ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Eric.

I'm a software engineer based in Bend, Oregon. I grew up in Guatemala, and I've been building software professionally since 2017.

I like working with people. That shows up in how I approach engineering, from learning what someone needs before writing code to helping a team work through a difficult production issue. I've been fortunate to work with teams where people respect each other and care about the quality of what they build.

Outside work, I spend a lot of time making music, running, and cooking.

TRAIL RUNNING

There's usually another trail I want to run.

I've run several marathons, including the Mont Blanc Marathon. Trail running is one of my favorite ways to spend time outdoors, and running a 100K is a goal I'd like to work toward.

SAXOPHONE

Playing saxophone

I've played music since I was a kid. I still spend a lot of time practicing saxophone, and I love performing at weddings.

WORKING TOGETHER

I hope people enjoy working with me.

One of my favorite things about engineering is building friendships along the way. When something goes wrong, I try to keep perspective, help the team focus, and occasionally make someone laugh.
