Reliability / distributed jobs
Why were jobs getting stuck?
I picked up a bug about a customer whose job never reached service providers. While tracing the distribution flow, I found other paths that could leave jobs stuck: leaked Redis locks, exceptions that were swallowed, and releases that never got created. I measured how often it was happening, fixed the application paths, worked with DevOps on queue retry behavior, and wrote a data fix for the older records.

Service architecture / product
Bringing service pricing into the product.
I worked on a dynamic pricing initiative that moved Cleanup and Weeding services toward self-serve pricing. The job involved shaping the backend services and making the experience work with the rest of the product. I like projects like this because you can see how a backend decision changes the way someone buys a service.

Our data team built a recommendation algorithm, and our design team worked out how the recommendations should look. I owned the engineering implementation of the carousel across web, Android, and iOS, including choosing the platform-specific libraries and building the components. After launch, we tested different card designs and tracked how people interacted with the results.
